With stout dark green needles in bundles of 2, rugged dark bark, and an irregular open habit, this is a handsome landscape plant. The silky gray or silvery white buds at the tips of the branches are a good way to identify this pine. It is frequently planted in exposed locations, especially near the sea because of its tolerance of salt-spray and wind. |
